With a toddler in my house smoothies are a must to hit those nutritional goals! I like to prepare this the night before so you can just pick it up and go!
Berries are amazing for your health; cherries are rich in polyphenol antioxidants which have been proven to help protect your heart cells from damage and lower inflammation. Blueberries are rich in vitamin K that help with blood clotting and improve bone health, and strawberries are rich in vitamin c which is important for growth and repair and are considered prebiotic so are friendly to your gut. It may be a simple smoothie but it’s a good one!
What you’ll need:
- Handful of Blueberries
- Handful of chopped strawberries
- Handful of cherries (if using fresh cherries make sure the pips and stalks are removed)
- 1 banana
- Half a glass of apple juice (fresh not from concentrate)
- Half a glass of water (filtered if possible)
(Fresh or frozen fruit either is just as good)
Instructions
Stick everything in blender and blend away for 60seconds, if the mixture is looking slightly thick add more water to loosen it up and stick it back on until your happy with the consistency. Then serve in a glass of your choice and drink away!
Who needs to go to a café when you can make smoothies this good at home!
