Becca Collingwood, Prosthetics &Orthotics BSc (Hons); Sports Therapy BSc (Hons)

Rebecca grew up with a passion for sport, swimming at a competitive level from a young age. At just seventeen years old Rebecca was involved in a serious car accident from which she required physiotherapy, it was this that sparked her interest in rehabilitation. She graduated with a degree in Sports Therapy BSc (Hons) in 2014, from here she went on to work in a high profile gym training and treating a variety of clients many of whom were professional and semi professional athletes. Due to the intense nature of the job Rebecca was mentored by various individuals at the top of their field including the Olympic weight lifting coach for strength and conditioning.

This experience of application of knowledge to rehabilitation ignited an interest in biomechanics, this led her to undertake a second degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics BSc (Hons). Rebecca has worked for the NHS as an orthotist helping individuals improve their quality of life via an external device that alters the biomechanics of the body. This is important as not all individuals are able to rehabilitate effectively without the use of an orthosis. Her specialist interests include rheumatology, hyper-mobility, diabetes, trauma & orthopaedics and neurology.

Rebecca has been working in healthcare for almost ten years, she prides herself on being compassionate, observant and always going above and beyond to meet medical needs. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and daughter on bike rides and exploring together as a family.
